Testimonials

Each year we ask attendees to complete an online evaluation form. This process always provides us with valuable feedback on how we can improve the conference in the future. The comments which appear below all came from those teachers who attended our October 2009 conference. Perhaps some of you will recognize the words that follow to be your own. Thank you for helping us to continue to make this annual Fall conference for teachers a must attend event.

I teach English 11, drama 10-12 and Dance 11. This conference touches on all these areas and because I direct the school productons the attendance at the plays is another learning experience. I would not HAVE TRAVELLED TWO YEARS AND WITH ONLY PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT UNLESS I THOUGHT IT WAS A SUPERIOR CONFERENCE.THANKS.

Your conference is the best possible P.D. experience! Not only is it educational in terms of ideas for teaching, it is a mini vacation, from which I always return rejuvenated and enthusiastic. I will attend as often as I can, although there are a number of new, young teachers in my school who are eager for their turn to attend! Hope to be back in the near future!

As always, this conference inspires and rejuvenates my teaching. There truly is no other professional development like this anywhere else. It is well organized, supremely practical, and well worth every moment. Thank you so much! Keep up the phenomenal work that you all do!

A pleasure through and through as always. Can’t beat the wonderful setting, the amazing shows, the good company, the great food, the talented instructors, and the clockwork-like precision for inspiring attendees and re-committing them to their craft.

Loved the opportunity to discover the underworld of the Festival Theatre. Our leader for this workshop was an incredibly experienced individual who obviously knows the ins and outs of the building and the Theatre in general. He was more than happy to speak about his own knowledge and experiences, and I loved learning about them. It has made me think about the Theatre in a whole different way!

Wow! I have been teaching for 12 years and this was the best workshop I have ever attended. I was given some incredible resources for ACTUALLY giving lessons where we stop reading Shakespeare and start DOING it.

The best PD I have ever received in 27 years of teaching. I formulated 4 new lesson plans before I hit my driveway at home.

As has usually been the case, I found the workshop to be both invigorating and practical. It renewed my enthusiasm for teaching Shakespeare and I left with ideas and handouts that I could bring back and use in my classes the following week.

Our instructor was a walking talking exemplar of all that constitutes and great teacher! Singing is my greatest uncomfortable zone but she has a skill that allowed me to sing my heart out. At the end of a day and a half we had collaboratively composed a song, devised sound cues and attained a valuable insight into what constitutes music support in a show. I was stimulated and excited the whole time.
